Dirty Wars
Rick Rowley's new documentary "Dirty Wars" exposes the primacy of the secretive Joint Special Operations Command in today's war on terror. President Obama has expanded its reach beyond even Dick Cheney's most orgasmic fantasies, conducting clandestine and extralegal military operations wherever in the world its responsible-to-nobody leaders perceive a threat. This is a program upon which more sunlight should be shone, yet the film itself is too loosely organized to develop much thrust and often lingers a bit too long and lovingly on its star and co-writer, the reporter Jeremy Scahill.
